Greyhound terminal is located in downtown LA at 1716 E 7th, if you want to look at schedules go to www.greyhound.com and if you want to look at schedules from Mexico south or stations go to www.greyhound.com.mx

apparently there are 2 greyhound stations in LA, the downtown one you mentioned and also one in hollywood. the website is ok to get schedules, but apart from that is pretty useless. doesn't give you the station. and e-mail helpline sends you message asking to call a 0800 number - which won't work from new zealand...

or is it that they got rid of the hollywood greyhound station and all coaches are leaving from the downtown one?

Very simple to get the address of the station in Hollywood, just click on stations, click on California, click on Hollywood and there it is but to save you time it is located at 1715 N. Cahuenga Blvd right in the heart of Hollywood.

hi phil,
i appreciate your help but it's still not the information i need... i know the addresses of both stations, it's in all the guide books and i figured that out from the webpage. what i do not know is - does the greyhound to tijuana leave from hollywood or from the other station. i guess i just have to wait until i get to LA and then phone the number and hope it's still in time.
thanks for trying to help.

Ok, here you go, there is one bus from Hollywood that goes without changing buses to the Tijuana bus depot, it departs Hollywood at 1110 and arrives at 1555. All other buses from Hollywood go to LA and you must change there.

Hey Bear: I might be wrong, but I am assuming you are landing at LAX. If so, may I suggest that you take the shuttle from the airport to the train station downtown and from there take the train south to San Ysidro. Walk across the border there per your guidebooks. There are Mexican busses (far superior) running down into the baja from there constantly. Buen viaje!

Osoeno's advise, "...the shuttle from the airport to the train station downtown (LA) and from there take the train south to San Ysidro. Walk across the border there per your guidebooks." Is misleading.

Yes, take the shuttle from the airport to the train station downtown (LA) and from there take the train south to the Santa Fe Depot in San Diego.

Across the street from the SD train station is a stop on the SD Trolley line. Take the Blue Line SD Trolley to the San Ysidro/Tijuana border.

However, if Greyhound will take you all the way to the bus station in Tijuana, I'd say that would be less complicated route over all.

Greetings from Spain IceBear!

The free phone 800 number is maybe not for use outside the USA but try this one instead: 214-849-8100 any time between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m
I donīt know if phone calls are too expensive from New Zealand to the USA but if so, just try to be fast, hehehe

Good luck and have fun!

my reply was admitidly simplistic, imkluque, but it was not misleading. I imagine bear could find the border without our help. Bear. Everybody. Do not use Greyhound unless you absolutely have to.

I didn't think it simplistic at all, I did think it misleading because the train from LA does not go all the way to the border and it is important to point out the need of making the change from the train in San Diego to the SD Trolley as there are no automatic guides to let a passenger know.
