Next April I am planning a trip to Northern Iraq and to Iran. But a visa for Iran may be a problem for me because I am American. When I travel, I travel alone. I always find many friendly people this way ( outside of the capital cities). Do you have any advice for me as how to get a visa, without taking a tour group. I would love to rent a car with or without a driver to visit towns other than Iran. But will fly if needed. I have traveled through much of the world this way ( returned from Afghanistan this June) and the challenge doesn't bother me. thank you in advance for any help and advice.

In Iran you should be accompanied by a tour guide. There is no need to take part in a large group just you should have a tour guide, this guide can be your driver too.

I think it is the best solusion for you since you have no other choise except being with a guide all around Iran.

if oyu want to travel to iran,you mst apply thorugh a travle agancy in iran in order to privde oyu ,your visa nad itinerary.beucase according to the rules,ou must be with a guide.dont worry you can have a guide who can be as a friend for you and provide you a memorable travel experince to iran.
