Celaya is not a beautiful place to visit, not too much to know unfortunately as it is more like a commerce place, and now growing as an industrial city/town.

Not expensive at all, located in the centern part of Mexico it serves as commerce route to the rest of the country.

Hotels migh be a bit expensive though, ranging from 30US dollars up to 150 or 200.

If visiting Celaya you have to visit Guanajuato as suggested by Lucy and Queretaro, crossing by San Miguel de Allende.

Enjoy.

Hi,
I live in SMA but do happen to have some Family in Celaya. Trying to find you family roots in Mexico is hard. Mendoza is a common name so it will be harder. I recomend trying to find out if your father whent to the USA leagaly or iligaly if he did you legaly you can go to the Registro civil down town and find his old adress awell as the names of old family members and deads. Also if he had a private or public education would help. Celaya is reather ugly but its also cheap.
Good Luck
