Posted: Fri August 22, 2008 08:35 AM UTC
Hello,
I am visiting Seoul for three days for business in September, and I will be staying at the Shilla hotel, . I would like to know if I can get a men suit tailored in Seoul in three days. And if Yes, where can I find the tailor shops that can tailor a suit for me. Any recommendation for will be appreciated.

What's your budget? The reason I ask is that, there is an arcade in the hotel where you are staying that does custom Italian suits and can do it in a day. However, they are quite expensive. If you are looking for something from scratch, I suggest you go to Itaewon and try any of the tailors there. Also, I seem to recall that the Capital Hotel also has a tailor that used to specialize in the 72 hour suit. Finally, if you don't mind taking a long subway trip, you could go south to Songtan (Osan Air Base area) and use any of the tailors in the Shinjang Shopping Mall. I used a tailor there called Mr. Moon's myself. He, as well as others have been known to do a rush job like that..for a price.

I had my suits made at one of the many many tailors in Itaewon. The shop is called manchester (spelling with small 'm', located in the basement of the International Arcade). From my experience, he offers great value for money as I had nothing to complain about my suits until today. It took a week though with one fitting in between but I'm sure he can do it faster as I told him I'm not in a hurry. As there are soooo many tailors within Itaewon, competition is huge and most of them are not really that busy.

The one-day tailors in hotel malls are probably the most expensive you can have but if money is not your concern it might be your best option.

Just my two cents...

Cheers,
Robert

I got a skirt, jacket and shoes made in Itaewon. Both quality and price were excellent.
