Train to Machu Picchu - can you get off at Ollaytaytambo?

Hi all,

Just a quick question. We're wanting to catch the train from Cusco and get off at Ollaytaytambo, spend the day looking around and then buy another ticket from Ollaytaytambo one way to Aguas Calientes.

Are we able to disembark at Ollaytaytambo??? I've read that the train stops there but we just want to check. Thanks!

People do embark and disembark at Ollantaytambo, so it is totally possible for you, to get off there to visit the Valley, but I would recommend taking a bus or taxi back to Cuzco instead of another train, it's just cheaper and takes less time.

to add to that. I would use the waiting bus or a taxi to go up and down to Olly. It is significantly faster since the train climbs that hill so slowly.
You can then use the train to M.P.
