Peschiera del Garda Travel Forum

Myself, husband and two children are travelling to Bella Italia on Friday. We are trying to way up whether to hire a car or to spend the nines days travelling around by public transport. A quote for a private transfer from the airport to campsite was £98 pounds return. I wondered if there was a bus? Or would it be wiser to hire a car? Any advice would be most appreciated. We were hoping to be car free. Thanks Shelly

From there you can take a train to Peschiera del Garda (the next stop), which takes between 13 and 20 minutes: final destination of the trains concerned is Milan or e.g. Schaffhausen. There is also a bus to Peschiera, leaving from near the railway station. Probably you would then get a taxi from Peschiera station to the campsite.
Not knowing where the campsite is, I can't advise on convenience or otherwise of public transport, but you can do a lot from Peschiera by boat or train. If by any chance it is this one, I would say you don't need a car as it is very centrally located:

P.S. I thought that one might be it as the arrow is just to the right of the indication "Bella Italia" (incidentally I took your use of this name in your first line to mean only that you were going to beautiful Italy!).
However, from this it is clear that it is even better than that, the Verona-Brescia bus has a stop called "Bella Italia" which is right by the campsite:

from Verona Villafranca airport to the railway station you can take the shuttle bus.
From the railway station you can take the bus, no. 62 or 64, to Peschiera del Garda (the bus stops in front of the railway station in Peschiera) or take a train to Peschiera.
The camping is two km west of Peschiera.
