Bishkek: Gettting from the airport to the long distance bus station

Is there a local bus that goes from the airport to the long distance bus station?

Should I take a bus to the center and then take a taxi to the long distance bus station? Would that be a much more economical option?

Are the taxis safe?

How much would a taxi from the airport to the bus station cost?

Hi Mel!
I suppose it's not a problem. There are minibus (shutåle) from airport to bus station. (it's a main kind of transport in Kirgizia and not only from airport to bus station but from city to city) Ask "marshrutka do avtovokzala" (in Russian) "minibus to bus station". Ask shuttle (not onle bus) on bus station too.
I'll try to ask my friends from Bishkek about taxi cost and bus number.
