You should be able to buy the pass in any city in the US with a Greyhound station. They do not go to as many places as they did in the past, but you could see a LOT of America in five weeks. I will try to find out more about it and post another reply. safdb@vtmail.com

Hi - check their website for more info - www.greyhound.com/home/. You'll be able to see the fares, routes, etc. I'm not sure if the pass is still offered but some of the point-to-point fares are very cheap. All of the major cities have a Greyhound terminal as well as many smaller cities/towns. You can buy the tickets before or after you arrive in the U.S. I would first make an itinerary so you can see where you will go and which bus trips you can do overnight. Happy Travels!

Try the train pass if you wish to explore the west:

I don't really suggest you travel by Greyhound bus anymore. It's not an overly safe means of transport, and the terminals are not located too well for visiting the major cities. Gary

Grey Hound us Amtrak

Thanks for the first tips... I need more Lol.

My question is: Which is better company to visit USA.
I think Grey hound has many lines, but it is not comfortable to travel.
I think Amtrak has less lines, but it would be very comfortable to travel.

Any suggestions !!!!!!!!!

Thank again.!

You will be very disappointed with Grey Hound, lots of... interesting folks
travel by bus here. And as LostSooner said, some stations are NOT safe.
Travel Amtrak which may be more expensive but way more enjoyable.
Amtrak has a number you can call for help, my elder parents have used both bus and train ( they dont like to drive anymore, or fly) and will never go GreyHound again. Scary people. Just keepin' it real!

I will look up an Amtrak number for you.

Check out amtrak.com ( they have a "first time riders freq. asked questions" section) or call 1-800-USA-RAIL for help.
I think they should have a coast to coast package available. Make sure you go thru the Rockies to San Fran - WOW!
enjoy

I would check with a travel agent where you live to see i there are bus passes available for Greyhound buses. If there are passes, they may only sold out of the U.S. Eurail passes are, I believe, only sold outside Europe.

Take any and all sensible precautions when traveling by bus. Make sure that you know where your money and bags are. Traveling by bus at night??????

On the train you don't see much. If you want to see the countryside, the bus will be better. I am SURE it will be the cheapest if you get a pass.

If you just want to get from place to place, the train and flying the low cost airlines (google "discount airfares "a" to "b") or sign up for airfarewatchdog.com and list up to ten cities you are interested in visiting. Travelocity.com also allows you to have a fare watch on up to five pairs of cities.
