Izmir Best Place to but a Suit in Izmir and How Much Should I Pay
Posted: Sun August 17, 2008 09:35 PM UTC
I understand Izmir is a good place to buy a suit.

How much should I expect to pay for a cheap or good value suit?

Where is the best place to but a suit. Someone told me if you get the boat across the bay to the other side of the city things are cheaper is this true?

Many thanks

I was in Izmir in Late June of this year. The last time I was there was 2 years ago. Hotels and restaurant prices were a little higher
, like in a lot of places.

I was in Izmir 2 moths ago for a few days. Hotel and restuarant prices there fine and didn't seem much higher than they were when I was there 2 years ago.

On the other hand clothing prices were out of sight! Every store had an "Indirem" (sale). Everything was VERY expensive... and not very nice.

Can't imagine why you would go to Izmir to buy a suit.

Like the other reply, why Izmir? And going out of the centre seems strange, if you do know of the place then OK, but also which side, it's a big bay. Konak area is the favoured shopping area, and that is in the middle.

If you need a nice/good quality suit then you should pop into a Beymen shop.
Very good quality! Price is higher, but still afordable for good stuff.
For a female kamel (pure camel!) blazer, the newest collection, the price was 595ytl yesterday. Not too bad, esp compared with same quality from Italian blacerr (kashmir stuff).

I'm going to be in Izmir so thought it might be a good idea to get a suit. Im thinking of a male suit trousers and jacket. How much should I expect to pay?

I went to Izmir last year and walked with my partner up to the top of the hill near the remains of an old castle with a huge Turkish flag. the views from there were second to none but there were loads of children wanting money.

There was a ferry that leaves from near Konack Square is worth going to the other side of the bay?
