Re: Transportation from Acapulco to Oaxaca Posted: Sun August 17, 2008 10:15 PM UTC
It's not cool a bus trip from Acapulco to Oaxaca. Here's saying a brazilian who never have been in Mexico. I'm just pasteing some Internet matter.
The better route is Acapulco--> Puerto Escondido--> Oaxaca. But, read what's written below pasted from Wikipedia and Wikitravel:
- Puerto Escondido was made more accessible with the paving of Federal Highways 175 and 131, connecting the area with the interior of the State of Oaxaca and its capitol, Oaxaca city.
- Buses serve Puerto Escondido from Oaxaca and Mexico City as well as some nearby cities on the Pacific coast of Mexico e.g. Acapulco, Huatulco, Puerto Angel. However, the ride from inland is not for the weak of heart (or stomach) - think of narrow mountain roads with hairpin turns that seem to come every 10 seconds. The bus ride from Mexico City is about 12 hours and goes through Acapulco. From Oaxaca, the bus ride is about 7 hours long.
If you have a weak heart better you have a night travel. Unfortunately I did not get the timetables...
