Ottawa Travel Forum

We will be in Ottawa the first week in September for WARR (World Airline Road Race). The 5 and 10K courses run along the Rideau Canal on the Queen Elizabeth Parkway (?). Is this a relatively flat course?
Any help on that would be appreciated and also suggestions for places to eat near the host hotel, the Crowne Plaza. There will be several thousand airline people from all around the world in town from about the 3rd to the 7th. Watch out, they are real "party animals"!

It is pretty flat... The entire town is relatively flat and the run along the canal is definitly flat! ;)

Heh Frank....as mentioned already the course will be flat...as far as places to eat close by it depends on what you're interested in...Within a ten to fifteen dollar cab ride you can pretty much find whatever your heart desires...Tex Mex,Asian [Vietnamese,Chinese,Japanese],Fish, Vegetarian,Steak house...depends on your preferences...

Places to eat? Just get in a cab and ask to go to the Byward Market or Elgin Street. Seeing as you're there to jog, it's not too far from the hotel, and it'll be a nice walk too (these areas are also the party spots)
