Forum Question Posted By: Replies:
Éze Is this a reasonable itinerary?
Posted: Mon August 11, 2008 12:21 AM UTC
We will arrive Monte Carlo(cruise ship) 8:00am. Is it reasonable to think we can get to Eze village on our own(bus?). Would it be better to take a taxi.
How much time should we allow.
Should we taxi to Nice?
We are considering stopping in Nice to see the Chagall museum or
proceeding to Menton to enjoy a late afternoon/early evening at the beach. We hope to take the train from Nice.
Our cruise departs at 23:00(11:00pm)

You have an ambitious plan, all within the one day. It is do-able assuming you don't want to see anything much of Monaco as well, but if anything I would drop the Menton bit at the end. The beach is nothing special and there is a perfectly good beach out at the western end of Monaco, or near Monaco at Cap d'Ail (Plage Mala) Much of Menton is alas a" holiday apartment ghetto".

You are short of time so hanging around waiting for buses is not a good idea. The best logistics would be to start out by taking the train from Monaco to Nice, see what you would of this great city, then back to Eze. There are buses Nice- Eze Village but they are infrequent, and you might well opt here for a taxi. From Eze again there are buses to Monaco but short for time a taxi is good. If the weather is good , you can beach and dine here before returning to your ship on foot.
