Hostal Goya

I'm visiting Bacelona 9/7 & 9/8 and found Hostal Goya on line and it looks like a nice hotel for the money. Has anyone in forum land stayed there or know if it is indeed a good place to stay?

hello, Hostal Goya was the first place I ever stayed in Barcelona, 9 years ago! i loved it - the location is really great, very close to the main tourist area and a metro stop and on a street which is not horribly busy, but is big and well-lit so you feel safe walking home, however late it is. The appearance of Hostal itself has changed a lot since I stayed there and it is now a lot more luxurious than it was (it was a basic, clean hostal back then - I still would have recommended it to people). I would definitely recommend it now, and in fact have suggested it to friends in the past.
