ill be in sofia in a couple of days and was wondering about how to find overnight stay in a pansiyon or guesthouse. im in turkey now and do not have access to a lonely planet guide book. ill take an overnight train into sofia. perhaps exchange in dimitrovgrad. any assistance would be greatly appreciated. thanks...

Try the guest house The Rooms in Pop Bogomil street. Google to find their phone number as the one in my travel page is wrong.
If hostel is ok for you, try the ART hostel. It's 10 euros per night. It's not a posh place for sure, but the design of the breakfast room is great. Very artsy. google for address and phone.
Phone always in advance because they're always full now.


As a last resource, try also some pensions near the Lions Bridge. I did not sleep there, but I walked by and asked for prices last week, after arriving in an overnight train from Belgrade. They had free rooms for affordable prices. They look dodgy though.
