7 of us including kids and cases! are arriving by hire car at Valencia airport at 7:30 on the 16th and want to catch the Valencia train to Barcelona at 8:35.. which would be the best/easiest way. When I looked on various sites they said it would be about 15euros by taxi so obviously 30euros for 2 taxis but when I contacted one of the taxi firms by email www.taxivalencia.com they quoted 30euros each taxi ie 60euros for the two..

can anyone help with some suggestions..

you can go by metro to the train station. your stop is xativa, it stops at the train station's front door.
there are metros at 07:14 07:29 07:44 and 07:59 a.m (line 3) or 07:05 07:20 07:35 07:50 (line 5). you can take both lines. i dont know how long the trip takes but i dont think it's longer than 20-30 mins.
there's a bus too, but thats slower.
the taxi would be the safest but it'll be expensive, even more at that hour.
