I don't know but definitely will cost more than using an airport shuttle. You can reserve this in advance - use Super Shuttle or Prime Time. Those are the major airport shuttles from LAX. Make sure to print out your confirmation because sometimes the drivers might not have info or access to it.

taxi to pasadena would definitely be well over a hundred dollars. check out supershuttle.com or primetimeshuttle.com. they are vans that take several folks to the same general area and drop you off at your requested location. it usually takes a little longer because you have to wait for others to be dropped off. if you have several people you'll have to do the math against the taxi cost since the shuttle people charge per person.

A taxi is way too expensive. Try the Flyaway shuttle from LAX into Union Station downtown, then the Gold line into Pasadena. Or perhaps a taxi from downtown.
But either way, if money is a concern, use the Flyaway.

I agree with Botch on this one.
If your destination is within walking distance of the Gold Line, do FlyAway bus to Union, and then grab the train. Not only will it be a fraction of the cost of the SuperShuttle or shared vans, but it will be faster not having to sit through various dropoffs. FlyAway + Gold Line = $5.25 one way.
