Versailles walking time--time for walking?
Posted: Tue August 5, 2008 04:58 AM UTC
Does anyone know how long it would take to walk from the Chateau (Versailles) to the Fountain of Apollo? Or how long would it take to walk from the Chateau to the Trianon?
I'd really appreciate hearing from you devoted walkers!

Walking to the fountain of Apollo will take about 30 minutes.

Toward the Grand Trianon something like 45 minutes.

Towards the Petit Trianon it's a 55 minute walk.

I hope that this will help.

You must be walking very slowly for it to take that long Jerlis :-)
I'd say if you don't stop to look at anything and take the direct route from the chateau to the Apollo basin maybe 15 minutes. Another 15 min to the Trianon.
But of course you wouldn't want to do that, you would want to wander in and among the many paths through the bosquets. Each so different and wonderful

Thank you, Segolily and Jerelis, for your concise answers. I saved them and hope to use the information if I can get back to Versailles. I went with a group last fall and was sadly disappointed to be told that we were being kicked out early, with not time to go to the Gardens at all (!) because there was an opening for the installation of a modern art show there.
