Re: distances and buses from ashdot to jerusalem Posted: Tue August 5, 2008 12:51 AM UTC
One must know the day of the week to check schedules, but most weekdays are the same. I put in Tuesday as an example.
On the English Egged bus site there is nothing.
On the Hebrew site there are buses in the morning hours from the Ashdod Port junction to Jerusalem at: 06.06; 07.09; 07.49; 08.09; 09.09; 10.09; 11.09 and 12.09
These are approximate hours because this is not the first stop, it is the junction for the Port. As you know traffic can effect schedules of buses.
The earliest takes ~ 1 hour and 16 minutes
The next takes ~ 1 hour and 5 minutes
Thereafter the trip takes 1 hour and 17 minutes approximately.
The bus number is 438
Again I emphasize that with road traffic there are no guarantees that you will arrive exactly on time.
For the return trip in the afternoon, there are buses at: 14.15; 15.10; 15.55; 16.25; 17.00; 17.40 and so on. These hours are exact as the bus leaves from the Jerusalem Central bus station. There are more buses later in the day, but I don't know how late you want to travel...
If you want to travel on a Friday or holiday evening the schedules are very different.
FYI - the English Egged site is here:

Good luck.
