Paris Tennis Masters in Oct/Nov
Posted: Sun August 3, 2008 06:33 PM UTC
Finally taken the plunge and booked my trip to come and watch the Masters tennis tournament in Oct/Nov. Just got a few general questions.

I am staying at the Ibis Porte de Bercy. I have stayed in Ibis hotels all over Europe so i presume this hotel is the same? Any one stayed there before?

As i will be watching the tennis all day & into the evening and i will be on my own (partner does not like tennis) i am looking for somewhere to go and have drink/food afterwards that is near to the Bercy Omnisport arena. I have found a chain of bars called Frog Bars - any comments on the bar at Bercy Village?

The metro is confusing me too. My stop for the hotel is in Zone 2 (Liberte) but i can't seem to find the price for a 1-2 Zone ticket. On the website it has the tickets priced at €1.60 or €11.40 for 10 - are these T+ tickets valid in Zone 2?

From the airport (CDG) i need to take the RER then metro - can you buy a ticket that covers both train & metro? The price of the train is €8.20 - does this include the metro too or do i need to buy a Zone 5 ticket that covers everywhere, how much is this ticket? Sorry if this is confusing but the website is not very helpful regarding different ticket types and prices.

I have given myself 1 full day to go and see the sights (been to Paris before and done everything) so just going to have a stroll around again. Plan to go to Notre Dame then walk through Jardin des Tuileries to Place de Concorde, walk up the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe, around to the Trocadero, up the Eiffel Tower (depending on the queue) then walk through the Champ de Mars to the metro back to my hotel. Yes i know it sounds like a long day but i am a early riser and will have all day.

Thank you in advance for any replies to my questions.

Clare.
