Weather!! Posted: Fri August 1, 2008 10:37 PM UTC
Can anyone give me an idea of the weather late October around the White Mountain area (North Conway).
Always travelled there at Easter, but never October.
Thanks

The area around North Conway should be quite gorgeous in late October. You should be there during the time for peak or near peak fall colours (brilliant reds, rich yellow, and orange). The days should be very pleasant (temps in the 60sF perhaps, ~18-20C); the nights will likely be cool (low 40sF, or ~5C). A not uncommon day would be cool to somewhat warm weather with blue skies. Make sure you try the apple cider. It's really tasty.

Late October is past peak color for leaves. Peak would be the last of September to the first week of October. And it is possible in the mountain areas of New Hampshire to have a snow during that time. Not every year, but some years. And nights usually are frosty. I remember many times here in Vermont (nextdoor to N.H.) having heavy frost on Halloween. But, there has been years when it was very warm (21 c) and maybe 8 C at night. New England weather is a crap shoot.

First or second week of October is usually a good for peak fall foliage: http://www.nhtourguide.com/fall_foliage_season_report.htm
Weather: Cool, dry, low humidity, cold nights (great sleeping weather!)
Have fun!
