i am trying to organise a trip to Carcassone France and wish to go by train I live in the province of Cadiz Nr San Fernando bahia Sur. please advise best route.

A lo journey by train,here is a route with travel times to cover the distances.the exact train timetables can be had from the relevant train websites
Cadiz(Spain) via Cordaba to Madrid is 4 hours 15 minute (intercity train not high speed)Madrid to Barcelona is 7 hours 30 min,Barcelona to Cerbere (in France via Port Bou is 2hrs 30(you may have to change trains at Port bou as it is the border)cerbere to Narbonne is 1hour 20 and Narbonne to Carcassonne is 35 minutes.Look at www.renfe.com the spanish rail website and www.voyages-sncf.com the french rail siteAND LAST BUT NOT LEAST www.bahn.de that may give you the entire trip timetable as it covers all of europe,even my own country,Scotland.

I have recently also recommended the German railway website for a similarly complex journey/

You will be pleased to know that there are direct trains (two daily) from Barcelona to Narbonne in France (no changes at the border) and from Narbonne it is a short journey to Carcassonne.

However I doubt very much you will make the whole journey in one day so you may need to make an overnight stop in Barcelona and take the morning train to Narbonne. That is how I do that section.

Also one correction to the previous post - Madrid to Barcelona is now a 3 hour journey by the new (and expensive!) AVE high speed train.

I know about the overnight TRENHOTEL that starts in CADIZ and finishes in BARCELONA. if you want to book early it is possible to get a cheaper fare using the RENFE web site. You can book about 60 days in advance. Then Barcelona to Carcasonne is a different train/s.
You can fly from Jerez or Seville to Barcelona using the cheaper fares from Vueling ?
