| Dublin | Day Trips from Dublin Posted: Thu July 31, 2008 09:03 AM UTC
Hello!
I'll be visiting Dublin at the end of August. I want to take a couple of day trips. I may have access to a car but I may have to take bus or train. Can anyone recommend some towns that are close by with interesting things to do or see? Thank you! |

The DART (local train)is an ideal resource for touring in the Dublin area. From the city centre you could travel on the northside to Howth or Malahide and southside to Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey, Bray or Greystones (a new marina is under construction in Greystones at present so the north beach and old harbour are difficult to access and rather unsightly).
Info on the following sites: www.malahide.com www.howthismagic.com www.dlrtourism.com www.braytourism.ie you can download walking tours at www.visitdublin.com/iwalks

Great Day trips from Dublin: Newgrange (Bru na Boinne) to the north and Glendalough to the south--both are easy day trips and fascinating!
