New York City New Yourk in November
Posted: Sun July 27, 2008 01:30 AM UTC
My inlaws are coming to see us from Holland in Nov. This time they are going to land in NY. We are going to spend 3 days in NY with them. I know my mother in law would love to see a show. How do I get tickets etc.??? And when does NY put the Christmas things up? And do they have Christmas shows??? Now to look for a nice hotel. The euro is good so I guess we can look for a little better one. lol Thanks for the help!!!

You'll be coming at the most expensive time of the year, so be prepared! Don't book any hotel before you read the reviews on tripadvisor.com, and also look through the candid traveler photos posted there.

Holiday decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving, though the Rock Center tree lighting is a week or so later.

Tickets are already on sale for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I think the site is www.radiocity.com, but if not, google it. I think it's still a little early to buy Broadway tickets, but you can check on playbill.com. As it gets closer there "might" be some discounts, but since this is a special trip, I wouldn't wait. I think the hot ticket this fall will be "Billy Elliott." I saw it in London and loved it.

New York Magazine's guides are the best! Here's a link to the main page. Navigate through the site for holiday tips.

Hello

NYC Christmas Lights and other Celebrations start from 20/23, November

If you love the theater but need a break from retail prices, visit Duffy Square, the center island of 47th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue for TKTS - Save upto 25-50% off the box office price

NYC Marathon is scheduled for 2nd, November and November 27, 2008: Thanksgiving Day [4th Thursday in Nov hotels sell up fast so expect higher rates, why not hire a private condo/apartment, there’s much savings to be made with rates as low as $200 daily plus an estimated $65 exit clean (sleeps 4), with tremendous views and home amities why bother with hotels, 3 night minimum usually applies (be quick as they also sell-up fast)

Checkout;
Vacationrentals.com

I’ve rented property Listing #26741, and you wont be disappointed, there’s tons more other, you must make your inquires direct with the owner

Best wishes

Hello

The apartment I selected is located in Long Island City in the brand new High Rise building on the East River (2-01 50th Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101). The subway station which is located 2 blocks from the apartment puts you in Grand Central Station/42nd street/Midtown Manhattan at the first stop. It is approximately a 5 minute train ride to Manhattan and a 7 minute train ride to Times Square at the second stop. The trains run 24 hours a day 7 days a week or a cab can be at your service waiting for you in front of the building. It takes approximately 1 minute to get to Manhattan by car. Also available is a “Water Taxi” if you would like to take a scenic route to Manhattan across the East River.

Best wishes
