Hawaii (Big Island) Where to rent a cheap 4WD?

Hi, since would like to plan my trip to Hawaii as good as possible, I will probably post a number of questions. Hopefully anyone can help!

I plan to visit the Big Island for about 7 days and would like to rent a 4WD for the best possible price. Does anyone know where I can book the cheapest possible (but reliable) 4WD?

Go directly to Alamo's website. They were the only company renting 4WD Jeep Wranglers from the Hilo airport when were there last time.

If you want to try others, get their local office number in Hilo and call direct to inquire. The national call centers will not be able to identify the specific 4WD vehicle you seek even though they may be available on-island.

Also, be aware that you will be breaking your rental contract - even if renting a 4WD - if you drive to the top of Mauna Kea, down into Waipio Valley, or take the road to South Point. If you breakdown in those places, do NOT call the rental company for help.
