Hawaii (Big Island) Waipio valley, Waimanu valley and Pololu valley on 1 day?

Hi, is it possible to visit Waipio valley, Waimanu valley and Pololu valley on 1 day? I will be on the island in October, and I'm planning on renting a 4WD. What's the best way to do this? Up to where can you drive by car, and does it require a lot of hiking and thus time or would 1 day be enough? Thanks for your replies!

Short answer: No - BUT...

On the Waipio side, you can drive your 4WD down the valley access road. You do know how to operate a Jeep's transfer case, don't you? (I'll assume you are renting a Jeep Wrangler because that is the cheapest 4WD to be had on the Big Isle) It's about a mile hike across the valley to the opposing valley wall once you reach the bottom.

You can hike in from the Pololu side on another day. You will not be able to hike the entire Muliwai Trail in one day, but you can get a taste of it this way; one day-hike a little ways in from each side.
