Hi.
I'm spending 5 days in Egypt as part of our honeymoon vacation. We are planning 2 days in Cairo, 1 in Giza/Saqqara, and 1 in Luxor. For the 5th day, we figure we don't have enough time for Sinai and Aswan/Abu Simbel. That leaves a day trip to Alexandria or an extra day in Luxor. Any advice? Thanks very much, Aleksey |

Given your time constraints, and distance between Luxor and Alexandria, I'd say you'd be better off with an extra day in Luxor. There is sooo much to see there as well- one day would not be enough. Have a wonderful honeymoon!

I think you;re giving way too ittle time in each city to begin with...
1 day in Luxur is too little, theres alot to see there, the distance between cairo & luxur too is quite long, depends on how you're going...i would advize u to take a plane if you're only spending a day or 2 there...plus the distance between luxur and alexandria is sooooooo long... thus spend the extra day in luxur... hope u have fun!:)

Sorry, I have other idea's with honeymoons....;-) You can combine Giza/Saqqara with Cairo. Giza/Saqqara will take a day trip. You will have the evening to do the Khan el Khalili and/or a felluca sail on the Nile. Next day do either Alexandria or the Egyptian Museum/Citadel. Depending on your preference. When your choice is Alex than do the Museum and Citadel next day. Night train to Luxor (9 hours!!!!). 3rd (or 4th) day in Luxor: morning Valley of Kings, Deir el Bahari, Kollossi of Memnon. Afternoon: Karnak Tempel, Evening: Luxor Tempel Overnight in either Luxor or Aswan (depending on the extra day to Alex in Cairo). 4th day: Aswan: early rise to Abu Simbel (if you want), trip to Philae Tempel, trip to a Nubean Village with Camel ride or do the Aswan High Dam. My preferance is the Nubean Village! Evening: the Nubean Museum!!! Or the souk! At night back to Cairo by train: 14 hours!! I do hope your soon to be wife is more into history than romance! For there will not be very much time for romance into this schedule! Love, Dora.
