| Barcelona | Hotel near port Posted: Fri July 25, 2008 04:39 PM UTC
A friend and I will be in Barcelona for 2 days, 1 night in Nov. Can anyone recommend a resonably priced hotel near the port where cruise ships depart? Which section of the city is that in? Would we be better off staying in another section of the city to sight see, and then taking a taxi to the port? Thanks for all your advice-

There is nothing of interest near the cruise port, that is located just below Motjuic mountain (nearest metro stop is Drassanes, but still about 15-20 min walking to the ships. A taxi for the very city centre should not cost you more than 15 €, so I'd definitely would prefer staying somewhere in the centre.
Near Plaça Espanya may be a good option as it's well communicated with the airport (provided you're landing at BCN), not far way from the cruise port (10 min by taxi), right next to Montjuic attractions (as the Font Magica) and very easy to reach the old town by metro or bus
