There's a cellular rental booth close to the South exit of the Narita airport. I rented one last November and it is okay. They asked you to give your credit card, passport and there is a deposit. The problem I had was dropping it off later because I didn't have enough time so I was rushing...

Make sure to activate it while you are in front of those customer representatives. They don't speak English well so it is hard to understand but make sure to get specifics with them before you leave.

There are two things that you needed to know. One is they ask you to send the bill to your home address or if you wanted to be billed right there and then. If you wanted your bill sent to your home address, there is an extra fee so I opted to pay right away.

If you needed more information, let me know. I have to look for my receipts and tell you the name of the company...

My email is orchidarium@yahoo.com

Good luck travelling!

Hi there,
regarding a phne to be used in Japan? At the airport itself you can take on rent a phone of your choice.I would advise you to read carefully the "Plan" you are buying.cos the plan is more important than the phone. If you find it more expensive you may change it the next day.I must tell you that this is an ezxpensive item.
Have a nice trip.
Pacified.
