Hi

Has anyone stayed at either Kupu Kupu Barong and or Kayumanis Villas in Ubud.
If you have can you please advise what you thought of it. If by chance anyone has stayed at both, which would be the better.

Which villa resort is better depends on individual taste and expectations, Both of the resorts are excellent, luxurious, with first class services.

The Kayumanis it is quite popular with Japanese visitors, and they have another complex in the Nusa Dua Area. The villas are totally luxurious and the service outstanding, they have a policy of no children under 16 years old can stay there, it is in a great location, and is very peacefull.

Kupu Kupu Barong is of a more traditional style accommodation, (That's not to say it's not luxurious), they also have a complex in Tuban in the south, where they have one of my most favourite restaurants in Bali. The location is also great but not as peacefull as Kayumanis.

There are other places in the Ubud area just as good, with service and luxury to match.

Whatever or wherever you decide I hope you have a great time in Bali, and Ubud is the perfect place to relax and rejuvinate.

I stayed at Kupa Kupa Barong a number of years ago and though quite expensive absolutely enjoyed our stay's there, since then it has been closed done up and reopened and quiet better I believe. I don't suppose that is much of a help but I have been to Bali many times and often remember our stay at Kupa with great pleasure.
