This is a tough question!...
I think hanging out on the patio of the N. Rim Lodge at Grand Canyon, glass of wine in hand, a million stars out, my family nearby. :) |

Hopping the chainlink fence around the site of the ancient Olympics in Olympia, Greece, and wandering around the ruins under the light of a full moon....geez, nowadays, we'd probably be shot for doing something like that...

Sunset at the top of Mt. Abu in Rajasthan was breathtaking, with the red sun dropping below the valley spread out thousands of feet below, washing everything in a goldish hue. A few sunsets on the Big Island of Hawaii were also awesome. I enjoyed barbecue lobster on Jinbarang Beach on Bali during sunset, but I was alone, so no one to enjoy it with.

Grilling the biggest steak you ever saw (and Boerewors)for 3 hitchikers in Swakopmund Namibia a few hours after skydiving. Served with pepercorn and mushroom sauce and ice cold beers and 8 year old scottish whiskey. The neighbors came over to borrow the coals and a party ensued.
Any night you braai is a good night. |

Finishing a trans-Atlantic sailboat race (16 days) in a spinnaker photo-finish with our nearest class rival at dusk, then watching the televised finish on the news at the Yacht Club amid much Mount Gay rum, followed by a fabulous beach BBQ in the moonlight, with the other racers.

Well it was the night of the Waikiki Beach in Hawaii at the reception of our daughters wedding at the ''Pink Palace '' Luau 4 years ago (I think ).
Can I name a second best night please. I must say the night or the several nights on Santorini Island overlooking the ''Caldera'' from our Hotel and area in ''Fira '' These were incredible nights . Hansi |

These are fun to read! Not counting the oodles of nights out I had in Wales, my favorite would have to be a night I spent dancing and drinking at a pub in Bled, Slovenia called...The Pub. I was 23 and it was the first time I had ever really been "out on the town." And Bled rocks.

Oberwesel, Germany 1998. There was a traditional Weinfest in oktober. We firts strarted drinking wine in a big tent at long tables. Then as everyone was getting slowly tipsy the silly dancing to German humpapa music began, then more wine. As the tent was closed the party went on at the marketsquere. Wine and beer and we met a group of silly German students wearing funny clothes and inviting us to their tables. Then the pretty girls appeared, which made the Festfreude even bigger. The chapel was playing silly german brassmusic and the party went on till the morning. One of our friends was sleeping at a bench at the nearby railroadstation as we were having early breakfast and beer. i didnt had a hangover starngly from the night. It was a funny night out and the little village of Oberwesel with its timberframe houses made a nice scenery for it.
