Surabaya Travel Forum

Dear all Vters,

I really need a BIG BIG favour from all of you. My friends and I (total of 11 person) will be heading to Surabaya on 11 Dec - 14 Dec 2008, and we had plan NOTHING yet! We have no idea where to stay, we have no idea what to do.

Can any of you give me some idea of what to do and where to stay, ohh, as for where to stay, we prefer to be staying in apartment / resorts where everyone will be in the same place?

Hi,

Surabaya is not a prime tourist destination. Considering it is the second largest city of Indonesia, there are relatively few attractions.
You may be interested in:
- the old city with Dutch architecture and including China town.
- the Zoo (Kebun Binatang), perhaps one of the best in Indonesia.
- a small historical and achaeological museum, MPU Tantular, close to the Zoo.
And Surabaya is rather famous for its discos.

I'm sorry I have no information on places to stay.

u can visit also House of Sampoerna Museum which located near Jembatan Merah. and visit Arab village, or Chinese mosque which is well-known now.
Surabaya is popular with malls, since people here addicted to shopping:)
