The Gold Coast has a plethora of theme parks!

Warner Brothers Movie World is situated on the Pacific Highway, Oxenford. It is open all year round from 10am to 5pm. Things to look out for include: Superman Escape, Shrek 4D Adventure, Lethal Weapon, Police Academy, Wild West Falls, Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster, Looney Tunes Village and the Main Street Star Parade.

Sea World is situated on Seaworld Drive, Main Beach and is open all year round from 10am to 5pm. Shark Bay is reputed to be the world's largest man-made lagoon system. Also look out for Polar Bear Shores and Waterski Wipeout.

Wet 'n' Wild Water World is located within splashing distance of Movie World. Attractions include Whirlpool, Mammoth Falls, Giant Wave Pool and Buccaneer Bay. The park opens at 10am and stays open later in the summer.

Dreamworld is located opposite Movie World and boasts the Giant Drop, Tower of Terror, The Claw, FlowRider, Wipeout and Thunderbolt. Dreamworld also has WhiteWater World. Open year round from 10am to 5pm.
There are family packages and other promotions, such as Fun, Escape or Super Passes, available.

It's a great week of entertainment!

Gold Coast is definitely where all the theme parks are located, as already mentioned...

Melbourne doesn't have any theme parks, except for Luna Park which historically is a lovely place to visit, but doesn't exactly have the thrills that the Gold Coast provides! The iconic clown face entrance near the beach of St Kilda is one of the more famous landmarks of Melbourne, and the Scenic Railway which goes around the outskirts of the park is the oldest continually operating roller coaster in the world.

Sydney also has a Luna Park which isn't as appealing as Melbourne's I don't think.

The Gold Coast probably has the best theme parks. I am not sure about a family pass but SeaWorld, MovieWorld and Wet'n'Wild has a three park super pass. That said Dreamworld is my favourite. Have a good trip.

Also, I'd probably look at staying at Seaworld Resort as your stay includes entry into the park. http://seaworldresort.myfun.com.au/

As everyone else has said, head to he Gold Coast - its sort of Theme Park Heaven there - LOL. Melbourne's Luna Park is worth a visit, but has limited opening hours. Sydney is one giant Theme Park - fake buildings, plastic people the whole lot - LOL (now I'll duck for cover from the Sydneysiders)
