| Florence | Michelangelo School Florence Queries Posted: Wed July 23, 2008 06:04 AM UTC
Hey
I am thinking if going to Florence in December to learn italian for 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone has been to the Michelangelo School? If so whats it like? I also wanted to know if anyone who had been to this school used them to get a shared student apartment? Their apartments are really cheap and I just worry about the location and state of them. Any info would be great. Do you think 3 weeks is enough time or am I wasting my time as I will be flying from Australia to Florence to learn it and can only fit 3 weeks. Thanks for your help! Jess |

I have studied at the school and found it excellent. The teachers are very good with small clasees and alot of flexibility. The school has a good location near Santa Croce. The students come from all over the world and are very good at languages since many are European. I would go for at least 4 weeks if you are serious about Italian. You will learn alot in 4 weeks. The classes are immersion and 4 weeks will be like 2 years of studying Italian at your University.
They, also offer other classes such as cooking, art, etc. The cooking class was fun. They offer weekend excursions which are very good and group dinners which are inexpensive and fun. I didn't share an apartment with anyone, but visited some of them and found them to be fine. The apartments were all located within walking distance of the school. They, also offer family stays but I wouldn't suggest that since it's better to interact with the students with meals and other activities. No Worries!!
