Bath Visit Bath - Stay in Bristol

Hi, I'm attending a function in Bath and finding accomodation a little scarce and expensive. Since it's only for one night would it be viable to stay at a hotel in Bristol and take a taxi to/from Bath? Would the taxi-drivers be okay doing that on a Saturday night?

You pay them and they will take you wherever you like.
Bath is a hotspot for tourist, therefore hotels will be more expensive.

A taxi from Bristol to Bath would be fairly expensive. Depending on the time of night, you may be able to use the train.

It seems that the last train to Bristol Temple Meads is at 01.13am and there are several large hotels within walking distance of the train station in Bristol. That would be a far more sensible option than catching a taxi!

The money you save on accommodation will be spent on the taxi ride. This does not make much sense to me.

Have you also checked out B&B's in Bath? We once stayed there (although a while ago) and it was not expensive at all.
