Inca Trail Reservations

Hi I am planning to do Inca Trail in late Dec and want to purchase permits etc beforehand. I am not planning to go with a travel agent, where can I book/reserve a permit?

The Inca Trail guidelines are stringent. You cannot do it on your own, unless you do an alternative trek. You'll need to book your spot from a reputable trekking agency and they are the ones who will obtain your permit for you. Be forewarned that you'll need to pre-book your space 5-6 mos. in advance. You do need to book it through an agency, only a few are authorized to do the Inca Trail and they can get permits for you. For high season you need to book it months ahead, but as far as i know right now for december is pretty much open. still the sooner you do it the better.
