I am going to be in Bratislava for 3 days in August and want to know if it is easy to get to Mosonmagyarovar or should I just go to Gyor. Is a train or bus easier to either of these destinations? Thanks for your help.

Bratislava-Györ is served by train three times a day directly. The round-trip (9.12 euro) is CHEAPER than the one-way (11.40). With Mosonmagyaróvár there are only two morning trains, the afternoon train does not stop there. The one-way price to Mosonmagyaróvár is 7.80 Euro, the round-trip is 6.24 Euro.

The schedule is:

1) train #375 is departing BR at an ungodly hour of 3:56, arriving Györ at 5:27
2) train #1373 is departing BR at 5:30, arriving Györ at 7:09
3) train #1203 is departing BR at 13:40, arriving Györ at 15:20

Note, that:

- the train #375 does stop at Mosonmagyaróvár at 05:07
- the train #1373 does stop at Mosonmagyaróvár at 6:47

So probably the second choice is the best one.

The train #1372 (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday) departs at 20:06, arriving at 22:24 (till Sept. 9)
The train #374 (daily) departs at 21:34, arriving 23:20
The train #1202 (only till Sep. 7!) departs at 12:41, arriving at 13:59

Warning: I did overlook, the trains from Bratislava to Hungary are running:

#375: daily
#1203: only till Sept. 5
#1373: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (only till Sept. 7)

In other words, the connection is a bit more tricky because the best train from Bratislava is not daily. Going back from Györ is fine because you can use the train #374.

BTW: if you go to Mosonmagyaróvár, don't miss the magnificent church at Lébény! (Or maybe it's why you are going there?)
