| Île-de-France | Inexpensive places to eat Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 01:27 PM UTC
Hello,
Me and my friends will be at Paris between 8-18 Aug. and I have been wondering whether there are some decent inexpensive places to have something to eat, 15-20 euros per persons would be great, but up to the 30 euro range for a nice place to eat would also be OK. Some traditional french cuisine within that range would also be great. Thank you. |

You will have no trouble finding restaurants in your price range. The restaurants are all required to post their menus and prices outside their doors. It's kind of a sport to cruise restaurants and menus trying to decide where to eat so join the Parisians and check menus. The "menu," "formula" or prix fixe dinners at a set price for several courses is usually a great bargain as is the daily special. If the restaurant is crowded, it is probably good. Just look for a fairly crowded place with prices you like and a choice of food you are willing to eat.
Alternatively, you can type Paris restaurants into the VT Search Window above and scroll the next window from Destination Search down to Keyword Search to find a list of restaurants in Paris. Another thing is type Paris into the VT Search Window and that will take you to the VT Paris Travel Pages. On the left side of your screen are Tips and you will want to click on Restaurants. A favorite of ours is La Bastide d’Opis at rue Guisarde #9, tel. 01 4329 0184. It's near St. Germain des Pres church and a couple blocks from Deux Maggots and Brasserie Lipp. We also like Brasserie Lipp but only in winter when the menu is more to our liking.
