I am talking about a home-size globe (maybe 30 cm diameter) with a small lamp inside so the continents are shining through.
I might need it for a few photos, but dont want to bring mine in the flight-luggage. |

Hi!
An interesting question.. Well I didn't see any there! However, there is a shop which deals especially in maps etc (+ tourist stuff too!). Come up from the jetty where the cruise liners dock. Turn left along the main shopping road and then take the first (I think) left. The shop is down there ---in fact it may be on the corner! I think that it is your best bet! Enjoy Ush ---and if you've never been before then do take a rambo cat tour of the Beagle Channel. Take a good camera! Have fun. crazyman2

thanks a lot, I had been there last year but unfortunately just for a few hours and I remember a lot of shops, but did not yet have the idea to search for a globe...

Hi Michael
I have a photo of the outside of the shop that I suggested. In fact I have some books and maps of things that I have bought from there....and there may be a price sticker! I'll do what I can ---but it may not be for a couple of days. Another thought...why don't you e-mail the local schools? They may have such a globe and may be prepared to lend it to you! I'll be in touch! Stephen
