Hi., can someone please give information about the Habtoor grand resort and spa in Dubai marina? I have read a lot of reviews about this hotel and i don't know what to do.Also if someone could give me info about the area around the hotel (construction etc.) it would be great. Thanks.

Hello,
the Habtoor Grand is a 5-star hotel and looks good (I haven't stayed there becuase I don't need hotels in Dubai :-) The area surrounding the hotel is known as the "new" area of Dubai, around Dubai Marina. This is approx. 35 km from the city centre (Dubai Creek, Jumeirah Mosque, the traditional markets, etc.) and a lot of it is still under construction... then again, you will quickly realize that the entire city is under construction, so traffic is always a nightmare. If you stay at the hotel and want to visit the city, best to avoid rush hours (these are Sundays to Thursday, 7am - 10am and 5pm - 8m)

| Dubai | Habtoor Grand or Sufouh area / New Dubai / Marina Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 08:49 AM UTC
Like Jess said, it's a very good hotel but jess, I think the habtoor grand is better in terms of construction work because it's right at the beginning of Sufouh. Kikon, Jumeira beach is just ten minutes away in the worst of traffic.
Wild Wadi (aqua park) is four minutes and and Soud Madinat/Burj Dubai is also very close. If you want to visit the city centre or old part of town, leave ur hotel at ten in the morning (it will be very hot) or before three thirty late afternoon (will take forty five minutes) but after four thirty the traffic will be a nightmare except fridays and saturdays. A mid sized sedan with a chauffeur inclusive of petrol will cost abt 100 $ for ten hours (tips extra). Better than a taxi Bcoz when coming back a taxi is hard to find. hamed.sikander@gmail.com

There's construction around the hotel, but as Jess said there's construction everywhere in Dubai. The hotel is at the Dubai end of Dubai Marina, it's an excellent, genuine five-star hotel. The food & beverage outlets are top quality, friendly helpful staff everywhere. I haven't seen the accommodation but I'm sure the rooms are top quality too.
