Seoul Driving directions from Incheon Airport to Seoul ( UN Village)
Posted: Mon July 21, 2008 11:38 PM UTC
Hello everyone,

I've been living in Seoul for over a month now and I just started driving here. I find it really hard and stressful. I hate it but I have no other choice. Soon I will be driving to the airport and back- can someone explain more less how to get there and back. I just need the name of the highways I should stay on. Once I get there is it easy to navigate around the airport? What about on the way out? I have navi in my car but it sucks so I'ma bit stressed out. Thanks,
Anna

Hmmm...it's been awhile since I drove there, but probably the easiest way for you to go is to follow the 88 Olympic Expressway west and follow the signs for the Incheon Airport. Stay on the 88 Olympic Expressway and it runs into the Incheon International Airport Expressway. The signs are clearly marked. Even if you make a mistake and accidentally take the road to Gimpo Airport (do not take the left off the 88 Expressway to Gimpo Airport), I believe there are signs from there that will still get you to Incheon Airport. Basically, just stay on the south side of the Han River and follow it west. If you are still in doubt, there are maps online or you can go to any of the tourist information centers and get a free map of the major roads or if you want even more detail, the bookstores carry an outstanding set of road atlases of Korea. Thing is, the road atlas will be in Korea, but the major roads will still be labeled in English. I bought my first one at a rest stop on the expressway and I still have it somewhere in my house. Where are you from originally? I loved driving in Seoul...it is an adventure. I drove there for 8 years and never once had an accident. Read my driving rules on my VT page.

Thanks for your advice. I will be going to the aiport friday morning, I'll let you know how it went. I've been driving around a bit in the past few days but I guess I'm just not agressive enough...I'll get there one day!
It feels like people don't use common sense here and they don't obey any rules. I've been to many places but nothing beats Seoul.
By the way I was born and rised in Poland and moved to the US about 7 year ago. Since then I've been all over the world.
