| Bangkok | 7 nights in Bangkok Posted: Mon July 21, 2008 11:35 PM UTC
Hi everybody and I must say that this whole forum is very cool and has awnsered alot of my questions already. To the point. I will be in bangkok in Feb 09 and have a budget of approx 90,000 baht. Is this sufficient for a young man to stay in a stylish hotel, see a few cool sites and enjoy the nightlife? Also, has anybody stayed at DREAM and is it any good. Thanks heaps

Hi!
For hostels/hotels just log on: www.hostelworld.com or www.asiarooms.com or www.kayak.com you can find something luxury For fun and happening street,go to Khaosan Road, it's a "road" that never sleeps.

well, with 90,000 Baht for 7 nights I am sure you would be very fine with that. I think Anoma Hotel and Asia Hotel are in very good location. It is easy for you to travel around by walking and using BTS skytrain.

You'll have no trouble knowing that your in a foreign country in BKK, no matter where you stay (BTW, the Dream Hotel will be full of Westerner's). I've stayed there. It's quite nice, but a bit far down Soi 15. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Asoke or Nana BTS. Since you have plenty of $$ to spend, you might also check out the Westin Grande or Sheraton Grande Suk. Both have been running some low season specials. Majestic Grande is also a nice hotel at a good price.
With your budget, the nightlife will be happy to see you coming (and they will see you coming :-)

Well, it very much depends on what you are planning to do there and where you are staying. A nice hotel will probably cost you fews thousand baht a night, and if you are planning only sight seeing, food, nightlife and shopping its more than enough.
I spend around 55000baht for 10days, including flight, transportation, food, night life, accommodation, sight seeing and shopping. Bear in mind my hotel only cost me 1000baht a night (a nice hotel)
