Hi,
We are overnighting on a cruise ship in a few months and the only guide that writes me back is apparently not reputable..Amazon Exploreres email me one day and then a week goes by and I hear nothing...
We just want a simple one day trip up to meeting of the waters, the dolphins, and the eco park and to do the market and city the next day....Any reputable folks who will do a PRIVATE tour picking us up at the docks and doing the 8 hour version one day and athree or four hour version the next who is not too pricey and speaks english????

We also are traveling to Manaus on a cruise ship. I have several emails out to tour opperators and Amazon Exploreres answered me quick. We also received responses from others, but Amazon Exp. seems to be the only one to want to work with our cruise ship schedule, offer what we want and for a private tour for the 2 of us. We are going on the HAL Veendam and will be in Manaus October 20/21, 2008. I have been trying to find out more about Amazon Explorers also. He is offering to pick us up around 10AM and keep us out till night so we can have a full day, includes water and meal for R160 pp.

We ended up making a reservation with Amazon Riders. I sent them an email telling them what time our ship was arriving and what we wanted to see and what we didn't want to see. They came back with going to the Janahuaca Reserve, exploring some lakes, going fishing for piranas, watching dolphins, exploring monkey island with a walk, seeing the water lilies lake, visiting ipixuana indigenous floating house, watching the sunset, and then doing some night alligator spotting. includes mineral water, 15 diferent regional dishes (5 stars) buffet and a guide. Private tour for the two of us is $R160 pp. He came back to confirm our reservation, no deposit required and said if we can add more people, the price per person could drop. It will probably be about 8 hour tour.
