| Kuala Lumpur | How to go to Shah Alam to KL Posted: Mon July 21, 2008 12:59 PM UTC
Hi Friends,
I have to take an examination in Shah Alam on a sunday morning at 9.30am. The address is - Sultan Salahuddin Polytechnic, Persiaran Usahawan Seksyen U 1 SHAH ALAM Selangor,40150 Malaysia My questions are - (1) What is the best way to travel from KL to this test center? How much time and money it's going to cost? (2) Please also mention the time and money it will cost if I take a cab from KL to this center? Please keep in mind that it's sunday morning when you give me tips on this query :-) Thanks in advance for your help! |

There are several way. But I would advise you to take a cab from KL. As you're going to take an early examination at Shah Alam. Bear in mind that KL and Shah Alam is quite far apart but still close. It would take around 30-45 minutes from KL to Shah Alam.
A can would cost around RM30.

Hi Carol,
Thank you very much for your advice. Just a few more doubts on the same topic - (1) Can we hire 'city cabs' plying in KL to go to Shah Alam or it's some special place to get your cab from? (2) Will cabs go by meter or we need to fix up a price (what should be the range of this price? ) Thanks a lot for your help!

You can take any taxi actually, but make sure that they REALLY know where is Sultan Salahuddin Polytechnic is at and they DO know the way to get there. As in KL, some of the cab driver are choosy, so you need to ask them first id they would sent you to their?
Also you may get cab driver that charge by meter and also those that charge flat rate. So just ask them if they are using meter, or bargain the price they have set upon. But usually if you call taxi through your hotel (my assumption is that you will be staying in a hotel), they most probably are using meter, and it's better for you to ask the hotel to call in a taxi for you, although you may be charge extra RM2/3. Usually by meter the rate would be RM25++ or around RM30. Make sure you don't pay more than that.
