If any of you have health problems like beathing difficulty or pains in the joints etc etc, better to reconsider visiting or visit with all precautions.
60 or 55years of age is not a problem atall to visit Leh and can enjoy visiting Leh.After arrival in Leh,suggest you to take rest for atleast 24hrs so that the body gets used to the altitude and thin air atomsphere. For a day upon arrival ,you may have headache or no-hungry feling but these are routine and you will be fine after that. All the best.

Travelling to Leh at the age of 55/60 should not pose any health related problem, as long as you are physically fit. Its a fact that Leh is situated at a very high altitude and amount of oxygen there is less in the air. Hence for asthamatic patients and those with respiratory ailments, things may not be as favorable. The other tip on this query is very informative. You may need to acclamatize yourself to the high altitude before you set exploring the wilderness.
Leh is a beautiful place and I am sure you will love the landscape.

Hi,
If you have any symptoms of breathlessness after a little exercise, heart problem, or scared of height, then you should not visit Leh at all. As they have written, Take rest the first day, drink lots of water, eat in moderation, but more frequently. And rest means REST, and also sleeping all through the day. HTH Angchuk
