My daughter and I are visiting Ljubljana in late September and love markets. When and what time is the Ljubljana market held and are there any other large markets well worth visiting in Slovenia?

Ljubljana is a lovely little city: enjoy your visit!

The central market is open daily and there is a part with organic products, vegetgable and fruit every Saturday. There is the Antique market along the river on Sunday and the Flea market Vic. I also like the Art Market (arts and crafts market) which is along the river on Saturday.

If you're traveling to Maribor there's nice and quite large (for Slovenian) flea Market in Tezno (industrial zone) with nice atmosphere on Sundays. Be there before 10 am. Apart from second-hand and sometimes really useless things some try to sell there are also locals selling vegetables, animals, fruits, liquors and new things. It can get really crowded but around noon there aren't many people left.
