You were born in India and live in Dubai? Both nationalities need a visa for Bulgaria. Details here: http://www.sofia-life.com/sofia/visa
Language: Is a serious difficulty if you don't know the Cyrillic alphabet. Please see General Tips on my Sofia pages for details and help with that. Travelling around in Bulgaria can be done by bus or train. Usually the buses are more convenient. They go to more places and run more frequently. Also quite often the train stations are not located within the city, but some distance outside of it. How long are you planning on visiting? Do you want to visit cities, beaches, mountains, countryside or what? Can't make any definite recommendations w/o knowing your preferences. I can say that if you enjoy visiting Old Towns, history and culture then imho Plovdiv is not to be missed. Write Bulgaria into the Search box on the upper right hand of any page on VT to get lots 'n lots of info. Good luck and have fun!

learn the cyrilic alphabelt. at wikipedia you will find the characters. learn basics of the language (travel related sentences) since in many contacts (shops, tickets sellers etc) only bulgarian is spoken. Steertsigns and destinations at schedules in busstations or railroadstations are in cyrillic. Places that are must sees in Bulgaria are: 1. Sofia 2. rila Monastery 3. Koprivshitsa 4. Veliko Tarnova 5. Plovdiv 6. Melnik, Bansko 7. Pirin mountains. Off the beaten is Belogradchik, its a very cool place. have fun
