Dubai Where are some good Indian or Pakistani restaurants in Dubai?

I'm not talking about restaurants in 5 star hotels. Nothing fancy or expensive. Just some good Indian or Pakistani food for expats or regular people like myself. Thanks!

Well, the most famous Pakistani restaurant of all is of course RAVI'S: It's located in Satwa.... any taxi driver would know.

I love the Indian food at DELHI DHARBAR Restaurant on Zabeel Road, Karama, near the Baby Shop.

Either way, just drive through Karama or Bur Dubai and you'll see literally hundreds of Asian restaurants that are extremely cheap and very good.

I agree with all of those. If you're in the malls, check out two of our favourites, Indian Pavilion at Mall of the Emirates and at Ibn Battuta mall it's India Palace (in China Court).

Just a quick note to add:

all of these restaurants are not licensed = no alcohol served.

If you want alcohol with a meal, you need to visit the restaurants in the 5-star hotels.

- Karachi Darbar is very good and quite cheap as well. They have outlets all over Dubai and as far as I know even in Sharjah.

- Ravi is also a good restaurant. I personally like Karachi Darbar more though.

- Chicken Tikka Inn is not a 5-star place, but not as cheap as KD or Ravi either. I've taken the family to the one on Jumeirah Beach Road a couple of times and we really enjoyed it. They also have other outlets in Dubai.

there is also a fantastic indian restaurant inside the Jumeirah Plaza Mall, next to Magrudy's, on Jumeirah Beach Road... one of my favourites, and also very cheap.
