There are at least ten supermarkets in Angers. If you wish, check this generic tip for list of most common stores & a bit on what you can buy to eat. (not specific to Angers).

Rue Saint Laud always had amazing places to eat. Pappatinos was good for a nice pizza and there was this amazing Morrocan place where you could stuff yourself for like 11 Euro. I'd say definately try that street. It was always good for finding good dinners.
Supermarkets were perfect for picnics. Try the Galleries Lafyette in center city or Super-U for near the university. Enjoy!!!
