You're spoilt for choice what to see and where to eat!
Bayeux is a must - not only the tapestry but the town itself is very picturesque Honefleur is another very pretty place Giverny - Monets garden is worth spending some time in although may be not too good in Oct. Add a large sprinkling of Suisse Normandy with its pretty villages- and one must not forget the D Day landings museums at Caen. There is also the Palace of Versailles, Fontainbleu and Chantilly - all of which are worthy of visiting. Do check opening times. When arriving at Mont St Michel arrive early to avoid the crowds and eat on the 'mainland' where prices are cheaper and far better food. Enjoy

You could also push on another 40 kms to St. Malo and it's walled town and history. Just 30 kms south from there is Dinan, another medieval town. On the way back, both Rennes and Le Mans have lovely old parts within the towns. Then there is the forest of Rambouillet closer to Paris.
