The ferry water taxi from Nassau to Paradise Island Posted: Fri July 18, 2008 06:30 PM UTC
I am taking a cruise to Nassau next week. I wondered if I could take the ferry water taxi from the harbor to Paradise island and Atlantis and stay at Atlantis resort for a few hours and then return back on the ferry taxi? Also is it easy to walk to the Atlantis resort from where the ferry water taxi stops?

We walked across the bridge instead of taking the ferry (which I think is under it along with a market). I think that you can take the ferry also, although I have not done it.
According to my daughter, who took a cruise ship to Nassau a couple of years ago, the major problem is getting through the vendors that want to braid your hair or the like that cluster around the cruise ships.
As to whether you could stay at Atlantis - you can go to the casino and you can pay to go to The Dig (their aquarium). I do not think it is possible to access most of the water/beach there without having a room.

You can take the water taxi from the cruise ship and it cost $3.00 each way. It takes about 15 minutes to get there. The problem sometimes is they wait til they have a full load and we have sat there for 1/2 hour waiting. You can also take a taxi. That will take 10 minutes each way and I'm sure doesn't cost much. You can also walk over the bridge and we have done it, but in the heat it's a heck of a hike. You can use the water facilities,(pools, rides etc.) if you pay $100.00 each for adults for a day pass. We did that a few weeks ago. However it's not really worth the expense if you are only there for a couple of hours. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.
